Adelita Husni-Bey
A collection in turmoil
In September, Hidden Histories hosted the Italian-Libyan artist Adelita Husni-Bey, who led the workshop A collection in turmoil, from Sept. 12 to 14 within the collections and spaces of the Museo delle Civiltà, in the EUR district.
Hidden Histories renewed for the third consecutive year its collaboration with the Museo delle Civiltà and, through moments of collective learning, reflected once more on the stories and the untold of this complex institution, which includes the collections already belonging to five different national museums.By critically reflecting and investigating the museum institution as a place where Europe has constructed itself and its canon through the representation, appropriation and invisibilization of other cultures, the artist constructed a path of shared reasoning, using cooperative and non-competitive pedagogical methods. The workshop moved through the museum halls and repositories, along with the most significant urban places in the EUR district.
